I went here while on my way with my family to Dawson Creek and happened to stop here for lunch. I had the absolute best sandwich I’ve ever had, the grilled turkey sandwich. This was 6 years ago and I am still dreaming of this sandwich and think of the day I’ll be able to stop by again
Amazing food and service as always. It's really a great place to eat
Amazing soup, no matter which one you order, I've never had a mediocre soup there, they are all fantastic. Sandwiches are big, the bread is wonderful, I've also never had a mediocre sandwich there because everything is delicious. You are definitely not going to find better cheesecake anywhere either. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this wonderful establishment, I've been going here for years for a good reason, and I will travel 100 km out of my way just to go there for lunch. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and have lunch here.. you will never regret it.
Always good food and service. Homemade pies are the best around - preorder the day before to be able to buy a whole pie!
Fantastic home cooked food. From fresh baked bread and buns to great homecut fries. One of my favourite lunch stops whenever I'm in the area or have time to drive out. Worth making time to get there! Staff is also very friendly and warm.
According to everyone based out of this field office in my company, this is THE place to go for lunch if you’re anywhere close to the area. I’m based in Calgary and it is so well loved among people in my organization that even those in head office cannot stop talking about it if they find out you’re going up to the GP office. The food did not disappoint and this place is worth the hype. I’m not much of a sandwich person (outrageous, I know) but the bread they used for my venison salami sandwich was TO DIE FOR. if all sandwiches are like the Mercantile’s, I’d be a sandwich person. It is fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, toasted to perfection and buttered just right. Very generously sized too. And the pie - it’s any wonder I got any work done that day with how much food I ate. They have just about a pie for everyone, though the pies are popular amd they ran out of one type already by noon on a Tuesday. This is also one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve ever been to - there was not a spot to be found anywhere. 100% worth the money! Come early for lunch, it gets busy.
My friend wanted to come out to try this place and it was worth the short ride out of gp to try it. a Norwegian café great food, and great service. it’s really kool little cafe with like 12 different types of pie/cheesecake. And a mini gift shop.
